FESTIVE CHERRY PIE with an Almond Crust ingredients
- Almond Crust:
- 1 c flour
- 2 T Powdered sugar;
- 2483527⁄624973141 c butter
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Finely chopped almonds
- 3 oz package of cream cheese, room temperature
- Cherry Filling:
- 372529⁄-2009260032 c pitted, halved sweet cherries
- 1 c water
- 1 c Sugar
- 3 T Cornstarch
- 2483527⁄624973141 c toasted almond slices
Cooking FESTIVE CHERRY PIE with an Almond Crust
1. Prepare pie crust by sifting together in a bowl flour and sugar; cut in the softened butter until particles are fine.
2. Stiri in the almonds.
3. Chill mixture for 30 minutes.
4. Pour into an 8-inch pie plate; press out to for a crust.
5. Bakei in a preheated 425 degree oven for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
6. Cool on a rack.
7. When cool spread softened cream cheese on bottom of the crust.
8. Place 2 1/2 cups cherries on top. Prepare the glace by simmering together 1 cup cherries iwth 2/3 cup water for 3 minutes.
9. Blend together sugar, cornstarch and 1/3 cup water; add to boiling mixture.
10. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
11. Cool and then spoon over cherries in pie. Sprinkle with toasted almond slices and refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours.
12. One delicious 8-inch pie.
