Fay's Apple Crumb Pie ingredients
- 1 Double crust
- ---FILLING---
- 5 T Quick-cook tapioca
- 4 Lg tart apples
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Raisins
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Sugar
- 1 t Cinnamon
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Sugar
- 2483527⁄624973141 c flour
- c butter
- ---FOR TOP OF CRUST---
- 2 T Milk
- 1 T Sugar
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Ground cinnamon
Cooking Fay's Apple Crumb Pie
1. Sprinkle bottom crust with tapioca.
2. Parei apples; cut in eighths and arrange in 9 pastry lined pie pan. Sprinkle raisins over apples.
3. Mixi first 1/2 c. sugar with cinnamon; sprinkle over top of apples and raisins.
4. Sifti remaining 1/2 c. sugar with flour; cut in butter until crumbly.
5. Sprinkle over apples.
6. Cover with top crust.
7. Mix 1 T. sugar with 1/2 tsp. cinnamon.
8. Brush 2 Tablespoons of milk over top crust.
9. Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture.
10. Cut gashes in top for venting.
11. I cut out small pie dough leaves and decorate the top of the pie with them.
12. Bakei in hot oven (450 degrees) for 10 minutes; then in moderate oven (350 deg. ) about 40 minutes.
13. This is my absolute favorite apple pie. I think it's good warm topped with a piece of cheddar cheese.
14. My customers were crazy about it.
