Favorite lemon pie

Favorite lemon pie ingredients
- 6 sli Bread, approximately
- 1 c Sugar
- 3 Egg yolk, slightly beaten
- 1 large Lemon; juice of
- 1 T butter
- 1 Pie shell, 9", baked
- 3 Egg whites
- 3 T Sugar
Cooking Favorite lemon pie
1. Cut crusts from bread slices.
2. Dip slices in bowl of water to soften; squeeze out water.
3. Use enough bread to make 1 cup, but do not pack too tighlty.
4. Put bread, sugar, egg yolks, lemon juice and butter in top of double boiler.
5. Cook until mixture thickens; then spoon into pie shell.
6. Beat egg whites until frothy; gradually add sugar, and continue beating until mixture forms peaks.
7. Spread meringue over filling.
8. Bakei at 350 degrees about 20 minutes or until meringue is brown.
