Elfie’s Venison Stuffed Green Peppers ingredients

  • 2 lb lean ground venison
  • 8 Green bell pepper
  • 2 large Onion, chopped
  • (keep seperate from below)
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 cn (28 Oz.)whole peeled tomatoes
  • 3 whole peppercorns
  • 1 c Cooked rice
  • 3 Whole allspice berries
  • 1⁄3 c Vegatable oil
  • 1⁄2 t Ground allspice
  • 1 Eggs
  • 1 c Sour cream
  • 1 T Chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 t Dried oregano
  • 1 t dried marjoram
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Elfie’s Venison Stuffed Green Peppers

1. Directions; Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cut tops off of peppers, and remove seeds and membranes from inside.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, saute 1 chopped onion until tender.
3. In a large bowl, combine ground venison, sauteed onion, cooked rice and eggs.
4. Seasoni with parsley, salt and pepper.
5. Mixi well, and stuff into peppers.
6. Place in a large roasting pan. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat, Sautei 2 chopped onions until soft and translucent.
7. Stiri in tomatoes.
8. Season with peppercorns, allspice berries, ground allspice, oregano, marjoram, salt and pepper.
9. Cook on medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
10. Pour over peppers in roasting pan. Cover, and bake in preheated oven for 1 1/2 hours.
11. Remove peppers, and transfer sauce to a blender, or use a hand blender.
12. Pureei sauce until smooth.
13. Pour sauce back into pan, and reheat.
14. Whiski in sour cream just before serving.
