Date Bars 2 ingredients
- 8 oz Chopped dates
- 3⁄4 c NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
- 2 T Granulated sugar
- 1 t vanilla extract
- 1⁄2 c butter Or margarine
- 1⁄2 c Packed light brown sugar
- 1 c All-purpose flour
- 3⁄4 c Quick cooking oats
- 1⁄2 t Baking soda
- 1⁄2 t Ground cinnamon
- 1⁄2 t Salt
Cooking Date Bars 2
1. PREHEAT oven to 400° F. Greasei 8-inch-square baking dish.
2. COMBINE dates, evaporated milk, sugar and vanilla extract in medium saucepan.
3. Cook, over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes or until thickened.
4. Remove from heat.
5. BEAT butter and brown sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy.
6. Beat in flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
7. With floured fingers, press half of crust mixture onto bottom of prepared baking pan. Spread date filling over crust.
8. Top with remaining crust.
9. BAKE for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.
10. Serve warm.
