Country-Style Venison ingredients

  • 2 lb Venison chuck roast, boneless -- 1 1/2 inch cubes
  • 2 T Vegatable oil
  • 2 c water
  • 1⁄2 c Dry red wine
  • 1 Shallots, minced
  • 1 T Salt
  • 1⁄2 t Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 6 small White onions
  • 6 small whole carrots
  • 3 med potatoes,pared cubed
  • 1 med Kohlrabi,pared cubed
  • 4 stalk celery,2-inch long strips
  • 1 lb mushrooms, whole, fresh
  • Hot cooked Rice
  • Fresh parsley

Cooking Country-Style Venison

1. Browni venison cubes on all sides in hoy oil in large, heavy skillet.
2. Add water, wine, scallion, salt pepper; bring to boil.
3. Reducei heat; cover simmer 1 1/2 hours.
4. Add vegetables; cover simmer 20 minutes, or until tender.
5. Serve over hot cooked rice.
6. Garnishi with parsley.
