Classic irish soda bread ingredients

  • 4 c flour
  • 4 t baking powder
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 1⁄2 t Salt
  • 1 t Carroway seed
  • 1 1⁄2 c Raisins
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 c butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 c Milk

Cooking Classic irish soda bread

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Lightly grease a loaf pan. Place raisins and caraway seeds in a large bowl.
3. Sifti together flour, baking soda, sugar and salt.
4. Pour sifted mixture over raisins.
5. Add butter, eggs and milk to the bowl; mix well.
6. Mold dough into a loaf shape on a floured board.
7. Place dough in greased pan and bake for one hour, or until bread tests done.
