Chocolate-malt frosting ingredients

  • 1⁄4 c Natural-flavored malted-milk 1 ¼ c Semisweet-chocolate chips
  • - powder ¾ c Soft margarine or butter
  • 3 Eggs

Cooking Chocolate-malt frosting

1. Blend in medium saucepan the malted-milk powder and eggs.
2. Beat on high speed 1 minute.
3. Cook mixture over medium heat, beating on high speed for 7 minutes.
4. Remove from heat.
5. Beat in chocolate chips a little at a time.
6. Beat in soft margarine or butter until blended.
7. Return to heat until butter or margarine is melted.
8. Pour into small bowl.
9. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
10. Beat on high speed until light and fluffy, 2-3 mins.
11. Spread on cooled cake (recipe is for malted-milk cake, but is excellent on other cakes, too!.
