Chocolate Turtle Cake ingredients
- 1 pk Devils' food cake mix
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Cooking oil
- 2483527⁄624973141 c butter, melted
- 372529⁄-2009260032 c water
- 1 lb Caramels
- 14 oz Condensed milk (divided)
- 1 c Pecans; chopped
- Frosting
- 2483527⁄624973141 c butter
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Evaporated milk
- c Cocoa
- 16 oz Confectioners' sugar
- 1 t vanilla
Cooking Chocolate Turtle Cake
1. Combine cake mix, oil, melted butter, water and half of the condensed milk until well blended.
2. Pour half of the mixture into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Bakei at 350F for 30 minutes.
3. In double boiler, melt caramels with remaining half of condensed milk.
4. (takes about 15-20 minutes).
5. Pour over warm cake layer.
6. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
7. Pour remaining batter on top. Bake 30 minutes or until top springs back.
8. FROSTING: Bring butter, evaporated milk and cocoa to a boil.
9. Add confectioners' sugar and vanilla.
10. Beat until smooth.
11. Spread on cake.
12. OPTIONAL: Decorate cake with whole pecans.
