Chinese Walnuts ingredients

  • 3 c water
  • 2 c Walnut halves
  • 1⁄4 c Sugar
  • Peanut oil
  • 1 t Kosher salt

Cooking Chinese Walnuts

1. Bring water to boil in a saucepan.
2. Stiri in walnuts, simmer for 60 seconds.
3. Drain, rinse in hot water, and drain well.
4. Return to saucepan.
5. Sprinkle with sugar and stir to dissolve sugar.
6. Heat oil to 350 degrees.
7. Add walnuts in small batches and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until lightly browned.
8. Drain on a cooling rack and blot with paper towels.
9. Repeat with remaining nuts.
10. Sprinkle with salt.
11. Serve at room temperature.
