Chinese fried prawns ingredients
- 24 large Prawns
- 1 c flour
- 3 t baking powder
- 1 c Cornstarch
- 1⁄2 t Salt
- Eggs, beaten
- 1 c Ice water
- 2 t Vegatable oil
- Peanut or vegetable oil
Cooking Chinese fried prawns
1. Shell and devein the prawns, leaving the tails on. Sifti flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt into a mixing bowl.
2. Beat in egg, water and 2 t. of oil. Make a stiff batter.
3. Heat 2" of oil in a large electric skillet - (375 degrees).
4. Dip the prawns in the batter and fry in hot oil until golden brown, turning occasionally.
5. Drain on paper towels.
6. Arrange on serving platter in a circle with the tails pointing outward.
