CHERRY APPLE PIE WITH CARDAMOM CREAM ingredients
- 1 frozen, prepared 9-inch pie crusts, thawed
- 5 c fresh Northwest sweet cherries, rinsed, stemmed, stoned, coarsely chopped
- 2 c -coarsley chopped
- 1 T Lemon juice
- 372529⁄-2009260032 t ground cardamom, divided
- c Dark brown sugar, packed
- c Golden Raisins
- 2 T Milk
- 1 c unsweetened heavy cream, whipped
Cooking CHERRY APPLE PIE WITH CARDAMOM CREAM
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Fit one crust into a 9-inch pie plate; set aside.
2. In a large bowl, combine cherries and apples.
3. Sprinkle with lemon juice and 1 teaspoon cardamom.
4. Tossi lightly.
5. Add brown sugar and raisins; mix well.
6. Pour the cherry mixture into the prepared pie crust.
7. Top with the remaining crust.
8. Brush the top crust with milk, then with a fork, press the edges firmly together.
9. Poke vents into the top crust.
10. Bakei 35 to 40 minutes, or until the apples are cooked through.
11. Cut into wedges; serve warm or cooled, garnished with whipped cream, sprinkled evenly ith remaining 1/4 teaspoon cardamom.
