Cashmere chutney ingredients

  • 1 kg Green Gooseberries or
  • -apples, (2 lb)
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Cayenne pepper
  • 1 Whole ginger, chopped and
  • -pounded
  • 1 kg Brown Sugar, (2 lbs.)
  • 500 g Raisins, (1 lb.)
  • 50 g Salt, (2 ozs.)
  • 500 g Dates, (1 lb.)
  • Vinegar
  • 1 Clove Garlic

Cooking Cashmere chutney

1. Put apples chopped but not peeled and cored in preserving pan. Cover with vinegar.
2. Cook until soft then add remainder of ingredients.
3. Boil half an hour.
4. Put into bottles, cover, and keep twelve months before using.
