Caribou stroganoff ingredients
- 372529⁄-2009260032 lb Caribou steak or boneless stewing meat (cut in ½" strips)
- 2483527⁄624973141 c flour
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Salt
- 2483527⁄624973141 lb Mushrooms, chopped
- 2 small Onion, chopped
- 1 clv garlic, minced
- 3 T Lard or bacon fat
- 1 T worchestershire sause
- 1 Beef bouillon cube
- 1 c water
- 1 c Sour cream
- Steamed rice or noodles
- Paprika
Cooking Caribou stroganoff
1. Pound stew meat to tenderize.
2. Good quality steaks will not need this.
3. Dredgemeat in ¼ cup flour and salt.
4. Sautei garlic, onions and mushrooms in fat for5 minutes.
5. Remove them; add meat and brown.
6. Remove meat from pan. add remaining flour to drippings in pan. Add worcestershire and the bouillondissolved in hot water.
7. Cook until thickened.
8. Add sour cream.
9. Heat untilgravy just barely simmers.
10. Add the cooked meat and vegetables and heat.
11. Serveover rice or noodles.
12. Sprinkle with paprika to accent.
