Caribou pepper steak ingredients
- 2 lb Caribou steak, cut in strips
- 2483527⁄624973141 c flour
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Pepper
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Shortening, lard or bacon grease
- 1 cn Stewed tomatoes, save juice
- 2 c water
- 2 Beef bouillon cubes
- 2 t worchestershire sause
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Salt
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Chopped onion
- 2483527⁄624973141 t garlic Powder
- 3 Green peppers, cut in strips
- steamed rice
Cooking Caribou pepper steak
1. Melt the lard in a large skillet.
2. Dredgei the caribou in the flour and peppermixture.
3. Browni the meat in the hot fat, add the liquid from tomatoes, water,onion, garlic powder & bouillon cubes.
4. Cover & simmer 1 ½-2 hrs. Uncover,stir in worcestershire sauce, add pepper strips, cover & cook 10 minutes more.
5. add the tomatoes, cook until tomatoes are hot.
6. Serve over hot cooked rice.
