Cable Car Tuna Casserole ingredients

  • 6 oz Egg noodles -- cooked al dente Drained
  • 1⁄2 t thyme
  • 1⁄4 t Salt
  • 1 10.1/2 ounce can cream of -- celery soup
  • 1⁄2 c Milk
  • 2 - 7ounce cans solid white -- tuna, drained and fl
  • 1 c Up coarsely chopped celery
  • 1⁄3 c Coarsely chopped green -- pepper
  • 1⁄3 c Sliced water chestnuts
  • 1⁄3 c Chopped scallions with some -- green tops
  • 1⁄2 c Mayonnaise
  • 3⁄4 c Grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1⁄4 c Chopped toasted almonds

Cooking Cable Car Tuna Casserole

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Inn a 2-quart casserole combine noodles, thyme and salt.
3. Set aside.
4. Mixi together the soup and milk in a saucepan and heat, stirring constantly until smooth.
5. Add tuna, celery, green pepper, water chestnuts, scallions, mayonnaise and all but 2 Tablespoons of the cheese.
6. Heat and stir until the cheese is melted.
7. Add cheese sauce to casserole and mix thoroughly.
8. Sprinkle top with remaining grated cheese and almonds.
9. Bakei for about 20 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.
