Brown gravy ingredients

  • 2 c Warm water
  • 1 T Raw cashew pieces, rinsed
  • 1 T Onion powder
  • 2 T Cornstarch Or arrowroot
  • 3 T soy sauce
  • 3 clv Garlic pressed or
  • 1⁄2 t garlic Powder
  • 1⁄8 t Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1⁄2 T Parsley flakes (optional)

Cooking Brown gravy

1. Place ½ cup warm water and all of the ingredients except the parsley in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
2. When creamy, add 1-½ cups more warm water and blend.
3. Pour into a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick, about 5 minutes.
4. Add the parsley flakes for color after cooking if desired.
5. Makes 2 cups.
