Broccoli Italian Style ingredients
- 1 broccoli, whole head
- 1 qt water
- 1 T Salt
- 3 T olive oil
- 1 t garlic, minced
- 1 Pepper
- 1 Crushed Red Pepper
- 2 T Parmesan cheese, grated
Cooking Broccoli Italian Style
1. Separate the broccoli florets and trim the tough skin from the stalks.
2. Put the broccoli leaves in boiling water with salt.
3. A minute later, add the flowerettes.
4. Return to a boil and cook for 6 to 8 minutes until tender but resistant to the bite.
5. Drain.
6. Heat the olive oil in a pan and add garlic.
7. Cook over moderate heat for a minute and add the broccoli leaves and flowerettes.
8. Cook, tossing, for about 2 minutes.
9. Correct seasoning and sprinkle with parmesan cheese to taste.
