Brisket of beef with sauerkraut and dumplings

Brisket of beef with sauerkraut and dumplings ingredients
- 3 lb Beef brisket
- 1 ea Onion, sliced
- 1 Salt and pepper
- 1 1⁄2 qt Sauerkraut
- 2 T -Shortening
- 1 *dumpling dough
Cooking Brisket of beef with sauerkraut and dumplings
1. Melt the shortening in a large pan and brown the onion.
2. Then add the meat which has been well-seasoned with the salt & pepper.
3. Add the sauerkraut and cover with boiling water.
4. Cook slowly for 2 hours or until meat is tender.
5. Make recipe of dumplings #Cut the dough in squares and place on top of meat and sauerkraut.
6. Cover the pan tightly and cook for 25 minutes.
