Blue-ribbon apple cake (taste of home) ingredients
- 3 c All-purpose flour
- 2 1⁄4 c Granulated sugar, divided
- 1 T baking powder
- 1⁄2 t Salt
- 4 Eggs
- 1 c Vegetable oil
- 1⁄3 c Orange juice
- 2 1⁄2 t vanilla extract
- 4 med Baking apples, peeled and
- - thinly sliced
- 2 t Ground cinnamon
- Confectioners' sugar
Cooking Blue-ribbon apple cake (taste of home)
1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 2 cups sugar, baking powder and salt.
2. Combine eggs, oil, orange juice and vanilla; add to flour mixture and mix well.
3. in another bowl, toss apples with cinnamon and remaining sugar.
4. Spread a third of the batter into a greased 10 inch tube pan. Top with half the apples.
5. Repeat layers.
6. Carefully spread remaining batter over apples.
7. Bakei at 350
