Bbq Sauce from the Rio Grande

Bbq Sauce from the Rio Grande ingredients
- 1⁄4 c Unsalted butter
- 1 c Onion
- 1⁄4 c garlic
- 1 t Hungarian paprika
- 2 c Tomato sauce
- 1⁄4 c Apple cider vinegar
- 1⁄4 c Fresh lemon juice
- 1 t Dry mustard
- 1 t Liquid hot pepper sauce
- 1⁄2 t Kosher salt
- 1 T Fresh ground black pepper
- 8 oz Diced green chiles
Cooking Bbq Sauce from the Rio Grande
1. Heat butter in a saucepot, over a medium flame.
2. Add onions and saute for 3-4 minutes.
3. Add garlic and saute for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add paprika and dry mustard-mix well.
5. Add remaining ingredients-mix well.
6. Bring to the boil and reduce flame to low. Heat and stir for 12-15 minutes, until thickened Remove from heat and allow to cool.
7. Use as a mop or dunk.
