Baked Chicken Cacciatora ingredients

  • 1⁄2 c flour
  • 3 lb chicken -- Cut Up
  • 1⁄4 c Vegatable oil
  • 8 oz Tomato sauce
  • 1⁄2 c Dry red wine
  • 1⁄2 t Dried oregano
  • 1⁄2 t Salt
  • 1⁄4 t Fresh ground pepper
  • 4 clv garlic, minced
  • 2 green bell peppers -- cored, seeded, slice
  • 1⁄2 lb Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1⁄4 c Grated Parmesan cheese

Cooking Baked Chicken Cacciatora

1. 1. ) Place flour in a paper bag; shake chicken pieces in flour to coat.
2. In a large frying pan, heat oil. Add chicken and cook, turning, until browned, about 10 minutes.
3. Remove to a 13x9x2 baking dish.
4. 2. ) While chicken is browning, mix tomato sauce, wine, oregano, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
5. 3. ) Add garlic to pan drippings and sauté 1 minute.
6. Add bell peppers and mushrooms; cook 5 minutes.
7. Stiri in tomato sauce mixture.
8. Pour over chicken.
9. 5. ) Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 45 minutes, until chicken is tender.
10. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
