Baked brussels sprouts au gratin ingredients

  • 1 qt Brussels sprouts
  • 2 T butter
  • 1⁄2 c Green onions; chopped
  • 1 T flour
  • 1⁄2 sli Bacon
  • 1 1⁄2 t garlic, chopped
  • 1 1⁄2 t parsley, chopped
  • 1 c Water, reserved from cooking
  • 1⁄2 t Salt
  • 1⁄8 Pepper
  • 1⁄2 c Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 1⁄2 T Bread crumbs

Cooking Baked brussels sprouts au gratin

1. Preheat oven 325°F.
2. Wash and "x" bottom of brussels sprouts.
3. Place in boiling water, enough to cover.
4. Boil and simmer 10 mins or until tender.
5. Drain and reserve 1 c hot liquid.
6. Melt butter in sm skillet.
7. Add green onions and saute 3 mins.
8. Stiri in flour and cook until flour is dissolved, 3 mins.
9. Add bacon, garlic and parsley.
10. Cook 3 mins more.
11. Pour in reserved water.
12. Add salt and pepper.
13. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thickened to consistency of heavy cream remove bacon from sauce.
14. Place sprouts base down in a buttered casserole.
15. Pour sauce over.
16. Top wih grated cheese then breadcrumbs.
17. Bakei 30 mins or until top is browned.
