Bacon stuffed cornish game hens ingredients
- 5 sli Bacon, diced
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Chopped onion
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Thinly sliced celery
- c Seasoned stuffing mix
- 1 t parsley flakes
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Salt
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Pepper
- 2 Cornish game hens
- 1 T butter
- 2 T Bouquet sauce
Cooking Bacon stuffed cornish game hens
1. In a 1 quart casserole microwave bacon at high for 4 to 5 minutes or until crisp.
2. Remove to paper towels.
3. Drain fat, reserving 3 tablespoons.
4. Add onion and celery to fat in casserole.
5. Microwave at high for 2 to 4 minutes or until tender.
6. Stiri in bacon, stuffing mix, parsley flakes, salt and pepper.
7. Fill hens with stuffing.
8. Place breast side down on roasting rack.
9. Set aside.
10. In 1 cup measure, melt butter at high for 30 to 60 seconds.
11. Blend in bouquet sauce.
12. Brush hens with ¼ of the mixture.
13. Cover with waxed paper.
14. Microwave at high for 8 minutes.
15. Turn over; brush with remaining mixture; cover.
16. Microwave at high for 7 ½ to 9 ½ minutes, or until legs move freely and juices run clear.
17. Let stand tented for 5 minutes.
18. Total microwave time: 22 to 27 ½ minutes.
19. Standing time: 5 minutes.
20. The stuffing can be prepared on a conventional stove and used with chicken.
