Backpacker bars ingredients

  • 1 c butter
  • 1 1⁄2 c Brown sugar
  • 1 c Quick cooking oats
  • 1 c Whole-wheat flour
  • 1 c White flour
  • 1⁄2 c Wheat germ
  • 4 t Grated orange peel
  • 4 Egg; lightly beaten
  • 2 c Whole almonds
  • 1 c chocolate chips
  • 1⁄2 c Chopped dates
  • 1⁄2 c Chopped Dried Apricots
  • 1⁄2 c Shredded coconut

Cooking Backpacker bars

1. Recipe by: dessert show #ds3002 preheat oven to 350. Creami butter with 1 cup brown sugar.
2. Stiri in oats, wheat flour, white flour, wheat germ, and orange peel.
3. Press mixture into bottom of an ungreased 9 x13-inch baking pan. Combine eggs, almonds, chocolate chips, dates, apricots, coconut and remaining ½ cup. Brown sugari.
4. Mixi gently, but thoroughly.
5. Pour over butter mixture.
6. Spread evenly.
7. Bakei 30-35 minutes and cool before cutting into bars.
