Apple Whole Grain Bread Pudding ingredients

  • 4 c Whole wheat bread
  • 1 c Non-fat Milk
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Apple juice
  • 4 c Apple
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Raisins
  • 1 t fresh lemon peel
  • 1 t Ground cinnamon
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Nutmeg
  • 2 Egg whites
  • 2 T Sugar
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t vanilla

Cooking Apple Whole Grain Bread Pudding

1. Preheat oven to 350 °F. Place bread cubes in large mixing bowl.
2. Add milk and apple juice and toss.
3. Add apples, raisins, lemon peel, cinnamon and nutmeg to bread cubes.
4. In medium-size mixing bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
5. Gradually add sugar and vanilla, beating until stiff peaks form.
6. Foldi egg whites into bread-apple mixture.
7. Pour mixture into a 1 ½ or 2-quart casserole.
8. Set in a pan of water and bake 45 to 50 minutes or until lightly browned on top and apples are tender.
