Alpine Fondue Suisse ingredients

  • 1 garlic
  • 1 c white wine
  • 2 c emmentaler cheese
  • 2 c Gruyere Cheese
  • 1 t Cornstarch
  • 2 1⁄4 c kirsch
  • 1⁄2 t white pepper
  • 2 lb French bread
  • 1 Apple

Cooking Alpine Fondue Suisse

1. Rub the inside of the fondue pot with garlic halves.
2. Heat wine to a simmer in fondue pot, over a moderate flame stir in cheese, a little at a time.
3. Heat and stir to melt before adding more.
4. Combine cornstarch and 3 tablespoons kirsch-mix well.
5. Add cornstarch mixture to fondue pot when all cheese has melted and mixture is smooth.
6. Seasoni to taste with white pepper.
7. Serve over a low flame.
8. Dip apple or bread in kirsch, then dip into cheese mixture.
