A Real Stuffed Cabbage ingredients

  • 1 large Cabbage
  • 1 lb Lean ground beef
  • 1⁄4 lb ground pork/sausage meat
  • 1⁄4 c bread crumbs or cubes
  • 1⁄4 t Oregano
  • 1 clv garlic
  • 1⁄4 c Diced tomatoes
  • 1 c Tomato sauce

Cooking A Real Stuffed Cabbage

1. peel off outer leaves of cabbage.
2. cut it in half, and remove inside of cabbage so it looks like a bowl.
3. combine all other ingredients except tomato sauce and stuff each half of cabbage with it. join both halves together again and tie with string or wrap in foil tightly and bake in a pan with 1/4 inch water at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
4. uncover and drain water.
5. pour tomato sauce over cabbage, cover, and bake for a half hour more,basting a couple of times.
6. when cabbage is tender, cut in half and then quarter each half again.
7. serve with sauce from pan drizzled over top.
